Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC user reviews

"My review for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC
Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 – a full-featured convertible tablet PC — has just been announced for Australia.
Weighing less than 2 kilograms, this powerhouse sports a bi-directional hinge so that the screen can swing both ways. And look at this lineup of safety features: BIOS Lock, Hard Disk Lock, LifeBook Lock, Smartcard Support and Anti-Theft Lock slot bar prying eyes from any confidential information. And with one swipe of your finger, you have instant access to your data, thanks to the Fingerprint Recognition Technology."

"My review for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC
Pros
Indoor/outdoor screen
Bidrectional hinge
Cons
Hard drive not user upgradable
Clumsy lid latch
The T4220 has a few protective features, starting with a shock sensor that protects hard-drive components during a fall by retracting the drive's read-write head. Sturdy plastic port covers attach to the notebook, so they can't fall off and disappear; they keep dirt and moisture out of the network, modem, and monitor ports. The T4220 also automatically shuts down the optical drive during tablet use to protect it from breakage.

The only false step in the design is the screen latch, which you must manually rotate and line up for insertion into a small slot below the keyboard; with practice, though, even this goes fast. All in all, the Fujitsu T4220 might not be the cheapest or lightest ultraportable you can buy, but for tablet users desiring a little extra ruggedness and peace of mind, it gets along nicely with Mother Nature."

"My review for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC
The Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 is designed to weather outside use better than your typical convertible tablet laptop PC. And the Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 tablet PC has a nice keyboard and performs well, too, all at a competitive price.
All in all,it might not be the cheapest or lightest ultraportable you can buy, but for tablet users desiring a little extra ruggedness and peace of mind, it gets along nicely with Mother Nature. "

"My review for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC
Pros
Bright, 12.1-inch LCD; lots of security options; excellent digitizer; bidirectional screen hinge; modular bay for extra battery; good performance.

Cons
Clunky design; mediocre battery life; weak speakers

Summary
Fujitsu's LifeBook T4220 is a compact convertible Tablet PC with lots for business users and tech-savvy consumers to like. Just don't expect it to look as slick as some of the competition."

"My review for Fujitsu LifeBook T4220 Tablet PC
Pros: Small and compact, yet the keyboard is not too restricted. Bright screen, wonderful tablet functionality and is very solidly built. The wireless card switch on the side is exceptionally handy. Battery life is amazing, even without the extra bay drive battery (~4 hours without, ~8 hours with).

Cons: Just 1GB of RAM out of the box though with memory cheaper than dirt there's no sense whining about it. Some side keys are in strange locations - PageUp and PageDown are right above the left and right arrows, rather easy to mash those when you first use them.

Other Thoughts: Coming from a guy who's used Thinkpads for a good long while and never using a Tablet PC before, this is a fantastic laptop. Tablet PCs are very swanky and are definitely worth looking into especially if you're a college student, it's a lot more handy to have everything scratched down in OneNote than it is to type it out in Word.
