Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363 user reviews

"My review for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363
Pros: I received it ahead of schedule. It writes just like pen and paper, which is a MUST for a college student taking notes. Who wants the hassle of "getting used to" writing on a TABLET? The eraser function is handy, too. Fast and sturdy; I don't have to worry about handling it as if it was a ceramic figurine. I had the option of getting Windows XP Tablet instead of Vista (not an option for X61, which is why I chose the X60). Has a Firewire port and everything else I need. I like the nub for a mouse better than a touchpad, but even so I mostly use the pen/touchscreen. Matte screen makes angling and outdoor work tolerable. Good fingerprint reader. The keyboard is arranged slightly different, but it doesn't really bother me since there's a CTRL-ALT-Delete button. ThinkVantage button is nice.

Cons: Speaker placement. It does not have a CD drive (a sacrifice for portability). I got the Ultrabase, which adds thickness (not that I'll be carrying it around with my laptop). I have not had to try service yet. It costs more, but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!"
"My review for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363
Pros: Lightweight, High Quality Screen, Broadband cellular connection

Cons: Processing power could be better, more coverage with the cellular broadband.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for sheer processing power, this isn't the machine for you. If portability and e-mail on the road are your primary goals, you can't go wrong. "

"My review for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363
Strengths: Stylus and Handwriting Recognition Keyboard Sturdy Hinge Runs Vista Beautifully Screen does not show finger prints

Weaknesses: Screen is not so bright Battery life is good, but not great 8 cell battery jiggles a bit on back

Overall Evaluation: I love this computer. The tablet works beautifully and feels very natural. The handwriting recognition, even before any training, is excellent. The keyboard is clicky rather than squishy. The screen hinge feels very sturdy. I only wish the screen could be a bit brighter (I have the higher resolution model)., and less importantly, that the battery at the back connected a bit more sturdily. Overall, I am extremely pleased."

"My review for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363
Pros Design, portability

Cons No cd/dvd drive, no mousepad but small trackpoint

This is a truly great laptop. Its pen is so easy to use. Its screen is awesome. One of the best screens I have ever seen. If you open a file it just looks like you have opened a page of book. Its so clear. And its features are amazing. Taking class notes, making picture, slides, graphs, you can do it as you do on paper. When selecting something is so easy with the smooth pen. Best part is 3 years full warranty. And their customer support is really great. Only one cons is no cd/dvd drive. So I bought one external cd/dvd drive. Rest is fine. Very lightweight. Very easy to carry with me. Not bulky. Need only one hand to carry it with me. It has a long battery life (4-6 hrs). I will highly recommend this laptop to anyone. One more thing is that it doesn't have any mousepad but only small trackpoint, but after sometime you become habbituated to that although not very comfertable and you have always a better option of its pen. I love my tablet.

"My review for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet 6363
Pros: Ideal for reading the Web in all kinds of situations, and checking email. Quick responses can be made with the stylus using the built in handwriting recognition provided by Vista.

Cons: The screen is too small for serious business use.

Summary: I love this machine as a Web surfing tablet. I expect that in the near future we'll see better faster cheaper lighter models, but until then, this is the closest thing I've seen to a "giant iPhone." For serious business use, however, the screen is too small and the handwriting recognition makes too many mistakes to keep up with the pace of a business meeting (it's good enough for drafting a quick response to an email, or entring a URL). The touch screen option allows direct manipulation with a finger, but I don't think it's worth the money. It's much less reponsive than an iPhone, and the screen gets covered with grease marks. I use the stylus."
